My name is Tyler Nicholas. I am a 17-year-old high school student and a young Seychellois who believes deeply in service, leadership, and national development.
I am proud of my country, proud of its people, and proud to stand for a generation that is ready not only to dream of a better Seychelles, but to help build it. I am running for the 21st Cohort of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly because I believe youth representation must be serious, purposeful, and driven by action. I do not believe in empty words. I believe in responsibility, vision, and results.
Throughout my journey, I have taken leadership seriously. I have built and led initiatives, managed communities, supported projects, and worked to create opportunities for others. My experience in leadership, community engagement, and digital spaces has taught me how to organize, communicate, and turn ideas into action.
I have consistently believed that leadership is not about titles alone — it is about initiative, discipline, and the willingness to step forward when something needs to be done. Whether through youth-focused initiatives, community involvement, or the development of projects that encourage growth and participation, I have always aimed to lead with purpose.
View My Full Background on LinkedInI care because I love Seychelles, and I believe that serving one’s country is one of the highest responsibilities a young person can take on.
I care because too many young people feel unheard, overlooked, or disconnected from the decisions that shape their future.
I care because youth are too often told to wait their turn, when in reality we already have the ideas, the energy, and the potential to contribute meaningfully to national life.
I care because I want to help build a Seychelles where young people are not only represented, but respected — not only included, but empowered.
I will fight for youth to have a more meaningful place in national conversations, community planning, and decision-making. Young people must not only be spoken about — they must be listened to.
I will push for greater access to leadership opportunities, skills development, community initiatives, and practical platforms that help youth grow, contribute, and succeed.
I believe youth engagement should not remain limited to national events or central discussions. I want stronger district-based youth structures that work with communities directly, so young people in every area can participate, lead, and make an impact.
I will stand for a generation that values country, community, and contribution. I believe patriotism is not just pride in the flag — it is the willingness to serve the people behind it.
I want to help shape a Seychelles that invests in its next generation with seriousness: a country that sees youth not as spectators, but as builders of the future.
